Agreement

By downloading or using RESTSMOOTH (“the App”), developed and published by AlrightTech, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

The service

RESTSMOOTH provides on-device sleep tracking estimates, optional ambient sound event labels, bundled sleep sounds, and a gentle wake-window alarm. Features work offline for core tracking. No account is required for MVP features.

Not medical advice

The App is for personal wellness only. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or sleep disorder. Do not rely on the App instead of a qualified clinician. Seek emergency help if you have a medical emergency.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for placing the phone safely (not under a pillow), informing bystanders before enabling microphone tracking, keeping the device charged overnight when using combined tracking, and configuring system permissions so alarms can fire. You are also responsible for any content you enter in sleep notes.

Acceptable use

Do not use the App to secretly record others, to harass anyone, or in violation of local law. Do not reverse engineer the App except where permitted by applicable law.

Local data

Session history, clips, and settings are stored on your device. You can export or delete them from Settings. We are not responsible for data loss if you uninstall the App, clear app storage, or lose the device without a personal backup export.

Alarms and reliability

Wake-window and alarm delivery depend on your device OS, battery optimizations, and notification permissions. While the App includes reliability helpers, we do not guarantee that an alarm will fire in every OEM power-saving scenario.

Intellectual property

The App, branding, and bundled assets are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Bundled sound assets retain their original licenses as noted in the App’s sound sources file.

Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App’s authors and distributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for missed alarms, lost data, or decisions you make based on sleep estimates.

Changes and termination

These terms may be updated with App releases. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. You may stop using the App at any time and delete local data in Settings or by uninstalling.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in your place of residence, except where mandatory consumer protections provide otherwise.
